The artists constantly conversed, sharing their working methods and thoughts. However, through this very process, they confronted the reality that complete communication is ultimately impossible. The more they tried to explain and understand, the clearer the gap between their differing senses and methods became. How far can we tolerate one another? Is collaboration truly positive, or is it a process of enduring an uncontrolled relationship? Amidst a collaboration filled with discord and tension, the artists encountered moments where mutual intervention pushed them beyond self-control and into transformation. Moments of taking and being taken from, dismantling and adding on... As they peeled away at each other's flesh, a contradictory field of deconstruction unfolded, where individual habits and desires paradoxically emerged with greater clarity.
The form of the work in the studio was inevitably fragmented as it moved to the exhibition space, transforming into something entirely different along the way. They debated endlessly over where to place the works, which direction to hang them, and what to leave or erase. Furthermore, to reveal the traces left on the floor of the shared studio, they brought the linoleum flooring itself into the exhibition space. They decided not to erase the marks and screw holes made while moving the works, believing that past choices, agonies, and traces of failure were also part of this exhibition. Yet, perhaps we are still standing on the linoleum floor of that shared studio.
Through a process of understanding driven by endless dialogue, they sought to reveal the performative acts and site-specificity within the exhibition space—clearing up misunderstandings, tolerating acts of encroachment, and sometimes swallowing hard-to-accept differences. However, the moment they entered the white cube, they seemed naturally assimilated into the aesthetics of 'completion.' The works, paused as if 'completed,' are loosely intertwined while simultaneously awaiting their next movement. They hoped this exhibition would not appear as a completely static image; they wanted to capture the very state of endless transformation and wavering. Yet, even in this exhibition, they found themselves conversing toward completion. Though they championed a process-oriented exhibition, perhaps they were unconsciously seeking a completed form once again.
